Weekend Eating

I have tracked my food ( in my mind) for as long as I can remember. Eat healthy and exercise 5 days a week and take the weekend off! Any cookies, chips, pizza, fries, and wine leaves this house at midnight Sunday! Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am no longer able to play this game with myself and get away with it! I have watched the numbers creep up since I retired last year and I don't like it!

My new weekend plan is to eat what is on my menu along with 90 minutes of exercise everyday! I am ready to make the change!

    I know what you mean !!! I have such grand plans and manage to stick to them with routine during the week but yep then the weekend comes and I lose my mind !!!!

    Yeah, Baby! Seems the older we get, the less we can get away with. I've done the same thing and really have to step up my exercise if I want to "let loose" on weekends. But, what's that saying - No amount of exercise can compensate for a bad diet?

    So true! I work all week making good choices and getting the exercise in to lose a pound and the weekend rolls around and I gain 2!

    But I'm feeling more motivated than ever to really push for that 20-30 lb weight loss and keep it off!

    Good for you. To be honest with you I mostly treated weekend just like any other day. I tracked my food and although I did give myself the ok to take usually Sunday as a light exercise day. I found this a better way to learn to eat healthy and really learn what that means and make it a good strong habit. Now I do it because that is the way I live each day. You will see results, its all a change of attitude and you will be amazed how easy it will be to make that change.

    Retiring is a tough time so many changes. But you are taking a step to being healthy for the rest of your life.
