First Week Down! Snack Suggestions Needed!
Wednesday, August 03, 2016
I have officially completed the Turbo10 portion - the first week - of Nutrisystem. I'm feeling pretty good! I started the program on Wednesday but I started eating right the Sunday before that. Sundays are my weigh-in days. I'm down 3 pounds, which is great! I took another peek this morning and for some reason it's still exactly the same but I'm not going to sweat it. I'm going to stick to Sundays only from now on to weigh in so I don't drive myself nuts. I know my body and I know it hangs on to every last precious calorie for dear life, but then there comes a point where it gives in and cooperates. I just have to make it to that point and not get frustrated and quit before I get there. Of course that's always the hardest part.
So now that I'm on the regular program, I have to fend for myself a little more. I need to find some snacks that meet the requirements - the morning snack is supposed to be ~100 calories of protein and the afternoon snack ~150 of protein and carb. I'm thinking yogurt will be good for the afternoon one since there's both, but I need to come up with something less sugary for a morning snack. Two tablespoons of almonds just doesn't seem worthy of a snack title. Suggestions?
Also, what raw vegetables do you like eating plain? I am kind of stuck on baby carrots and tomatoes, both of which are higher carb content than other veggies, but I don't like bell peppers or broccoli or cauliflower or many of the other usual suspects. I got some snap peas but they weren't very fresh so super tough. What else? I seem to like my vegetables roasted but that's not practical for days I'm in in the office.
So, onward. I now get one lunch and one dinner each week on my own too and I already have my first flex dinner planned for tomorrow. And I looked at the menu and have my choice already made so I'm feeling pretty confident about it. Just have to not let the temptations (mmmmmmm, french fries) get to me.
