Week 5 on Fatloss diet

Wednesday, August 03, 2016

It has been a tumultuous week and a half since my last blog. My body has finally settled in and I do not feel hungry any more. But I developed boils again. Not worried about the small ones. Those I am used to But there is that big one that got worse when travelling over the weekend. When I got back I went straight to the hospital and they kept me for I&D under GA. It was done over night and I was discharged the next afternoon. Now am on 1 week sick-off and going for daily dressings. It was quite deep and sitting is quite painful

Glad you got treated for the boil.
Back in 1920 when my father was 20 yrs old he got 30 boils on his back. He went to a woman who was a "healer" and she used thin slices of smoked cured meat and put them on his back and then wrapped him tightly in bandages. He laid that way all day, until that evening when she removed them, and then used a glass cup that she heated on the bottom and drew out all of the infection as it broke them. He said he didn't bleed much at all, and she rubbed him down with suave and sent him home. She then told him to drink vinegar water for seven days to help his blood. I'm sure today this treatment would seem all wrong.
