Plan for August... Be Strong, Lose 4 lbs.

Tuesday, August 02, 2016

Good morning everyone.

It's hard to believe that summer is half gone. It's been very hot and humid here. Temperatures often in the low 30's with humidex 37-39. Very unpleasant, and not conducive to exercising outside. To make things worse, we had less than half the usual rain and some of my annuals, planted to provide colour in between the perennials, didn't survive even though our water bill was twice what it should have been.

We had grandchildren here for 14 of the 31 days in July, and that put me off schedule a bit, but I still managed to lose 3.1 lbs. In July.

My goal for August is 4 lbs... which would put in (just barely) in the 160's. My first goal is to reach 160. I will re-evaluate at that point, and set another goal. I think my ultimate goal will be 150.

What are your goals? I'm here to help you, and I need your support.

    Love this blog.
HHH in RI this summer, too...good as the pool has warmed up and stayed warm, bad as it is too hot to walk much at all.
My weight is down five lbs since June 1 but even with perseverance and consistency keeps bouncing up and down 2-3 lbs...annoying!
I shall continue my efforts though as the line graph of my weight loss over time report shows a slow but steady loss...down 14-15 in 2016.
    Happy August!

Gail I am impressed with your commitment and with your accomplishment! My goal is to continue losing weight; I would like to lose at least 5 pounds this month. I have farther to go to reach my goal than you do, but we can get there -- just one healthy decision at a time!

What a coincidence! My goal for August is to lose 6 lbs to put me back in the 160's again! That's my short term goal and my long term goal is to reach 155 and then see how it goes after that.

You have done great and I am sure 4lb is a reasonable goal for you. Last month I have taken of and put back on the same 3lbs fot this month I will be happy for any loss that stays off. 2 weeks holiday so that is why I am not aiming high

I think I'm going to join you in this goal. I was 152 when I moved here and was planning to head to 145. For many months I fluctuated between 152 and 155 - every time I hit 155 I'd be real good for a while and get it back down, then start snacking too much again and having treats more often. Now I'm fluctuating between 155 and 157 and playing the same game. I'm really sick of it. So I'm pledging to lose 4 pounds this month too.

I have the exercise pretty well in hand at the moment with classes at the Y - it's the evening snacking I have to address, and the days where I decide I need to comfort myself with food more than I need to stay on plan.

I weighed 156 this morning, so I'm pledging 152 by August 31. Let's do this!

I have complete confidence in the fact that you will lose the 4# and also reach your goal. When you make up your mind to do something, it gets done. emoticon

That's a really sensible goal for August, Gail. emoticon Cograts on the July loss - an extra special achievement with the heat, humidity & grandkids. Here's hoping August will be cooler and quieter. emoticon emoticon emoticon
