Isn't there a thing they say about AA, like "you gotta work the program?" That's pretty much how I'm feeling about Nutrisystem. Day 2 is in the books, and to give myself a little added push I've printed out and posted some motivational signs around the house.
On my bathroom mirror:
(It says "You don't get the ass you want by sitting on it.")
On the fridge:
(It says, "3 months from now you will thank yourself.")
So yesterday's food was pretty all right. I'm keeping track of what I like and what I don't so that I can adjust my next 28-day order of food.
Breakfast: NS Blueberry lemon bar and 6 cherries
AM snack: NS Turbo Shake
Lunch: Side salad (baby kale, carrots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, rice vinegar) and the NS black beans and rice. The black beans were spicier than I anticipated. I could eat it but it was at the top of my threshold (which is very, very, very low, to be fair.)
PM snack: NS Nutricrush shake along with tofurky and vegan cheese because I was still hungry.
Dinner: Roasted broccoli (with olive oil) and a NS Flatbread. Let's show another picture. The top is what it looks like on the box. The bottom is what it looks like in reality. And that was baking it and not microwaving it. It's not terrible, but it is a bit of a let down.
Dessert: Unsanctioned strawberries and watermelon.*
*I know, you gotta work the program, but honestly if tofurky and fruit are my biggest nutritional sins I think I'm doing OK. At the end of the day I was still only at 1296 calories.
The weekends will be hardest. Luckily I don't really have much going on this weekend so it'll be easy to stick to home and the plan. Going forward (after the first week) I get one lunch and one dinner without the prepackaged stuff so I'll save those for weekends. But still try to comply with the rules.
