Please think about this.

OK, I said I would come back and write blogs once in a while. I WILL write some about having a healthy lifestyle, but today, I want to talk about race.
I was raised by parents that showed us by their friendships with MANY different races, that we are all the same under the skin. I raised my own child to believe this too.
I grew up in Southern California. A human breadbasket, with myriad flavors and colors. It was a good place to understand our similarities as humans on our small planet. What worries me, is that so many people do not experience other races, other ethnicities, LGBTQ people. If you don't KNOW that these people are YOU, that they have the same issues with self awareness, love, tragedy and family that we do, you will never understand that they are us.
I am afraid that so many communities in America do not have the diversity and inclusion in their citizens to understanding this fundamental principle: that if you take away our skin, we are the same. That to try to bridge the divide that you feel is good for YOU. It is a good thing for this Country.
Saying that after we got here, that we are shutting the door to anyone else, is blasphemy against the Constitution that made us what we are. Saying that your God is better than someone else's God, is not what your God preaches. Saying that one race is not as good as yours, is forgetting why we became Americans in the first place. We came here, because we were persecuted. For religion, for race, for myriad reasons. We are the immigrants here. We were scorned and laughed at for speaking German, or Irish or Swahili. We are the same. We are a nation of colors and community, and to pretend that all will be well, if you exclude ANYONE, is not only ignorance, but it is hateful, hurtful and wrong. #voteblue
Spark on.
