I love this time of the year. Yes, it is hot and the humidity is high. But there is so much to do. I like to swim, walk and go to fitness classes. We often do a lot of things outside just because we feel much better outdoors than to stay in the house during the day.
I have lost 5 inches a couple of pounds recently. I know that daily exercise is much of the reason. I also am making a point to track my food. I got away from tracking for several months. As a result, my weight loss came to a plateau. I never gain more than a pound here and there. I haven't in years I think due to my daily exercise and water intake. I will lose the extra couple of pounds just by watching my foods for a couple of days.
I do see results when I track. It amazes me when I see how many calories, fat, sodium, etc. are in foods. It has made me more aware of the foods I eat. I try to read nutrition labels as well. With heart disease, I do need to be aware of what I eat. In particular, I need to limit sodium, bad fats, etc. My goal is lose 2 or 3 more pounds before our friends from Germany arrive the last week in July. (fingers crossed)
