Week in Review 7/7/16

Friday, July 08, 2016

Running late this week. This week was busy, and the next few weeks are going to be even busier. I had a house full of college aged kids this past week. We are beginning to move into our new house today and we go camping next week. I am still getting through my list, so much to do and my son's first therapist came to the house (occupational) for his evaluation. It struck me how depressed I am when as I talked to her I burst out in tears as I discussed our bath time hell. My son is terrified of baths. I hold it together nicely with the help of an anti-depressant, but I do hope to stop taking it someday. Despite my minuscule breakdown, that meeting showed me that there are a lot of good things to look forward to; they even have a GPS that he will wear to help keep him safe. The meeting also showed me that the way I thought things would be, well Murphy's Law.....
I did not really gain or lose this week, which is probably a good thing. The food for the Fourth was insane and I am still having some hormonal issues, hoping they will come to an end soon. I have a doctors appointment this coming week so hopefully a lot of things will be addressed. I do think this week will be a good one though.

On a more positive note, my healthy living journey this week was good. I had all the normal mommy things to deal with, but I am very active and making better food choices. Night time eating is probably my biggest enemy. It doesn't help that I never know what I am going to get to go to bed and some days I am just exhausted. I am learning to cope.

One of my challenges asked me to pick a few go to healthy meals that I saw that I was gravitating to over and over: I tend to eat breakfast for lunch as well, lol.

Breakfast:
Multigrain bread with raw nut butter
Banilla Yogurt, berries and 1/4 cup of granola
Bran Muffin with Raisin (Wegmans)
Omlette with buffalo wing cheese, ham and onions/peppers
2 sunny side up eggs with toast
tight pinch, healthy cereal
Yogurt/milk/protein powder/berry smoothie

I appear to have breakfast down, lunches and dinners not so much. I do like Mason Jar salads, so I will keep prepping those for lunch. Dinner tends to be a lot of different things.

Sounds like a busy week. Dinners are also where I struggle. Good luck!
