A few months ago, there was an incident in a town not too far from where we live.

A woman hit her dog in the head with a hammer several times, then placed him in a duffel bag, and threw him in a ditch. Luckily, someone saw the bag in the ditch in time to save the dog's life. He was taken to a veterinarian who worked on him until he had done everything possible. He is now able to walk again and is doing as well as can be expected due to the severity of his wounds. He was adopted by a couple who are very loving and caring people who will take care of him for what is left of his life. He is an older dog and because of his injuries, will not live as long as he might have. What is left of his life, however, will be as happy as this couple can possibly make it.

When I heard this story on the news, I was so enraged that I told my husband that I thought a suitable punishment for her was to have someone hit her in the head with a hammer and leave her in a ditch to die. An eye for an eye.............
I can't even imagine the kind of person who would do this to an innocent animal!!!!!

Yesterday, she was brought before a judge and for the first time for this kind of case, was charged with a felony. She will be tried in the Fall. There were several people who demonstrated outside the courthouse before the hearing and packed the courthouse during. When the Judge charged her with a felony, cheers erupted from the demonstrators. It is about time that people who do such heinous crimes be charged accordingly. The couple who adopted the dog, had her at the courthouse.

Are you as tired as I am of this kind of case NOT receiving the appropriate attention?

It is just unimaginable to treat any creature of God so horribly. May justice prevail when she's sentenced.

What a horrible thing to do! I'm so glad the judge took it seriously and charged her with a felony. I sincerely hope that she goes to jail and doesn't just get a fine or volunteer hours.

Another crime that isn't taken seriously enough, in my estimation, is drunk/distracted driving causing serious injuries or death. It seems that usually when someone gets behind the wheel of a car and kills or paralyzes someone they get off with little or no penalty. Driving is a privilege, not a right, and must be taken seriously.

There are evil evil people out there that do such incomprehensible harm to animals. They should be shot and die a slow and painful death. Period!

Yes, I am sick and tired of people abusing animals and either getting away with it or getting a rap on the knuckles. I am with you, hit her over the head with a hammer and see how she feels. What a emoticon with a B. I hope she serves time and doesn't just get probation. That poor door isn't getting just probation. Did she say anything? I use to watch Animal Cops on Animal Planet and had to stop because I would just sit there and cry. A child or animal can't defend themselves. They give unconditional love only. I can't even watch the commercial for the ASPCA, I have to change the channel. I just can't comprehend how someone can hurt a child or an animal.

We've had several rescues over the years. Ww have a min-pin mix who was severely abused before we got him. He was so messed it's taken two years just to get him kind of normal. I have little sympathy for those who abuse kids and animals.

My fur babies are part of my family. Animal cruelty ticks me off and hurts my heart. Yay for this judge. She deserves time in jail. The couple who adopted him will give him love. Shame on people who harm animals. They just want love and attention.

    Paybacks are he77..
People like that will be paid back here and beyond. Maybe not on our timetable, but she will get hers... maybe when she goes to jail the women in there will give her a taste of her own medicine.
