I've been feeling very good about how healthy we have been eating. This weekend we had turkey burgers on the grill. A year ago, this would have been burgers, chips and the obligatory limp veggies. Yuck. This weekend it was fresh cherries, to snack on before dinner. I found a large container of beautiful cherries at Walmart. These lovely veggie kebabs. I discovered that fresh mushrooms on the grill are fabulous.
I also experimented with coleslaw. So, I combined a bag of regular coleslaw with broccoli slaw. I bought a packet of Hidden Valley Chipotle Cheddar seasoning and added it, to some plain nonfat greek yogurt. It was super spicy! Still it was fun to try something new. I think next time less spicy and more..... not sure. Spicy is good, but it needs something else to balance it. Sweet, maybe. Maybe, shredded apple. Would that be good?
I had forgotten how much I enjoy trying new recipes. I will have to take some pictures of some of my favorites.
