Downs and Ups -- But Still Tracking Goals

The past week has had some significant downs, mostly at work when an error on my part caused repercussions that came down all the way from the top. I almost cried, and I am starting to think it may be time to move on. But I still logged all my meals and exercise. I didn't go crazy with overeating, and I worked out five out of seven days. The biggest "Up" was the payoff today when the scale was down 2.5 pounds.
One thing I very consciously did was change the way I drink wine. I'm usually a once a week drinker, but I tripled that this week. But since I know alcohol influences me to eat more or something sweet, I deliberately did not have any until later in the evening -- less time for me to make a bad decision. Plus, again I am saved by the fact that there are no ready to eat snacks in my house, almost no refined carbohydrates and no dessert of any kind. The most I could do would be to make homemade hot chocolate from 100% cacao or bake something from scratch. And I didn't do either.
This was definitely a down week -- but happily it was that way on the scale, too.
