Hi Spark Friends!

I know it has been awhile since I have posted a blog... so I wanted to let you know I am still here! The DH and I have been on THREE camp trips over the past month and internet service has been quite spotty. I upgraded my cellular plan so I had more data capability, but using a cell phone to post a blog is nothing less than a lesson in frustration... so consequently no blogs. The good news is I have had time to read and I actually have finished two books... Hooray!

The traveling we have been doing has been awesome. The Tetons and Yellowstone were fun and I the friends we were with were great fun. I did finish the Grizzly Double Dare doing a Half Marathon in the Tetons and a Half at Yellowstone. The elevation was above 6,000 ft so I knew that would slow me down but I had time to acclimate and that helped. The Yellowstone half was a trail run and it was the most difficult event I have ever done. I literally had to watch every step. It was like an obstacle course. On top of that, I had a horrible back spasm when I got out of bed that morning and it took me a good 5 minutes just to put on my socks. I seriously thought I wouldn't be able to get to the starting line... much less finish but I was determined to at least try. Somehow, I made it through. My back is feeling 90% better now and hopefully will be 100% by next week when I run another event on July 4th.

About my eating... I didn't do so well on the camp trip last month with my DS. When I got home and was up FIVE pounds I had a serious talk with myself. I love camping but I couldn't continue down this road... so I made up my mind that I had to find a way to make it work. I'm proud to report that the last two trips I have stayed on plan even though everyone else was indulging. I am reading Becks Diet Solution and applying the principles. It is working for me. I still want to take off 10 pounds before I do the Marine Corp Marathon October 30th. That is going to be challenging to find a workable eating plan to lose while training.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by my page and left comments. I really appreciate hearing from you and am trying to keep up with blogs. Lots of times I can't say much because of the internet situation and hope you understand.

Hugs to all,
Rhonda
