Summer Cleaning

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

We missed the Spring Cleaning and since yesterday was the first official day of Summer we are Summer Cleaning - it's just like Spring Cleaning except you sweat more! LOL

With all the funky energies of the past weekend and the blend of Monday Energy, Full Moon Energy and Summer Solstice Energy yesterday - today was the day to get cleaning. 2 very full large bags of garbage went out. Copious amounts of clothes have been sorted through for my kids - what fits and what no longer fits (which has gone into two bags, one for my best friends' boys and another for just general donation). Just with doing that today has shifted the energy in the house. It already feels lighter. I cannot wait to keep going!

It always bothers me when we get our mobile home cleaned and straightened up but it doesn't ever seem to last long. Hubby and I get tired of cleaning up all the time, yet we're not sure we trust our kids to help with some of the bigger stuff like running the dishwasher just yet.

I know sooner than later we'll find our rhythm and keep the place cleaner than not. It's just doing it, and keeping at the doing it. Our mobile home is older so storage isn't exactly the best and we've added here and there where we can, but, at the moment we cannot afford to do much either.

Some days I long for a "real" home, like the one I grew up in, yet at the same time I don't have anything bigger to fight to keep clean. It's a strange toss-up. I'm just wishing for the room for my boys to be able to play more, have friends over and not feel embarrassed about lack of space, have grown-up friends over for the adults to have fun now and then too.

Right now I need to get some sleep. I have a personal massage client in the morning and then more cleaning to do!

What are your cleaning tips? Storage tips? Energy clearing tips?

Every time a load of clothes comes out of the wash, declutter. Is there anything you guys don't like? Too small? Too big? Straight into the appropriate bag. Donate/toss, ect. It helps. Put on holey underwear? Take em off and toss em. That moment. Don't tell yourself you'll do it later; you won't!

Same with empty shampoo/body wash. I can't tell you how many times I get in and go "I'll toss it when I get out." do I? Nope. Never. Now I use it to practice my 10 point shot! LOL :)

Toys - we do these when the kids are otherwise occupied! LOL. Otherwise too many arguments. Your boys are bigger, so I dunno if that helps; they might remember the toys, but mine don't yet. Any toy that's broken, goes straight in the trash as soon as it's found (unless fixable)

Hope these help! If you have any, let me know!!

Decorating and organizing is my profession. I don't leave my home in the mornings unless everything is in its place, clean and organized. I have always been like that. I suggest you continue to de-clutter, and do away with items that you haven't used in 6 months to a year. Don't save anything for a later date or when that time comes when you lose all the weight such as clothes. If you need to store seasonal clothes, seal them in those plastic storage bags that you vacumn air out of them to flatten them out to make the package small, space savers. Let go of toys, stuffed animals that are more or less dust collectors. Give your home a good cleaning every few days, put some fresh cut flowers in a vase and be proud of your home. Plant some beautiful flowers and place them by your front door. There really shouldn't be any reason why you cannot invite company into your home. You don't need to live in a house to do that, okay? Best of luck!
