We've been sleeping in the barn with our goats out at the fairgrounds, because some kinda shady characters came by the other day. The CERT people and the volunteers have been absolutely fantastic, putting in 18 hour days or more, and we now have 4 young National Guardspersons protecting the property to keep the sightseers out. Believe it or not, some people think an emergency shelter is a kind of petting zoo. Guess we're lucky their kids didn't want to pet the rodeo bulls.
The fire is only 9% contained, but we're pretty sure it won't come as far as us, so we're looking forward to coming home to the familiar comforts and routines.
