Long time no blog!

Wow! It's been 3 months since my last blog! I've maintained 155 pounds, give or take 1 or 2. After some stomach upset the past couple of days, I'm actually at 153.5 lbs today though. Since I chose to play "which job will I stay at" my health insurance doesn't kick in until July 3rd but since I'm a nurse and we like to diagnose ourselves, I'm pretty sure it's my gallbladder acting up. If anybody else has had problems with your gallbladder after significant weight loss, feel free to share your experiences in the comments and anything that helped while you were waiting to get to a doctor. Basically, I noticed the color of my poop getting lighter a week or so ago. Then I started itching all over but I'd just ran out of my tylenol PM that I take to help me sleep so I figured that was the problem. Yesterday, we went out to eat at a diner and I got a pretty fatty meal (philly cheese steak and fries). By last night, I was running to the bathroom but by morning, my upper right abdomen was hurting and I threw up which stopped the pain. Did I realize it was the fat content of my meal yesterday? NO, of course not! It was a diner! Who hasn't had stomach problems after eating at a diner? So, I grabbed a 6pk of fried chicken wings from the walmart deli this afternoon. Not a smart diet choice, I know, but..... Within an hour, my right upper stomach was hurting so freaking bad that I told my husband I was going to bed and I took an ice pack to put on my stomach. Shortly after I layed down, I vomited the chicken wings back up and the stomach pain immediately stopped. Of course, I went online and found that if the bile can't get out of the gallbladder, it can go into the blood and cause severe itching. I already knew that gallbladder problems are aggravated by fatty foods. SOOO, I suppose, until I can get to the doctor next month and see if I'm going to have to have my gallbladder removed, I probably need to eliminate most of the fat from my diet or I'm going to pay for it with pain! I suppose the good news is that I wanted to lose 10 more pounds anyway and getting the fat out of my diet so I don't have pain may help those 10 pounds come off.

Other than that, we got a new found appreciation of air conditioning this month! As you may know, I live in Florida. Our outside HVAC blew up!!! And then after taking a couple of days to figure out how to come up with the money to get a new central A/C installed, we found out our area requires a building permit for the contractor to install the outside unit! That took 4 more days because of the weekend. It was in the 90's outside, AND INSIDE!! For 6 days, we sweated it out until we finally got a new A/C installed. I don't think we'll take our central air for granted again!

I am getting used to my new job and think I'll stay around there for a while. Besides that, my supervisor from my old job at the health department left her job so even if I wanted to go back, it would be completely different anyway.

My parents came into town just before Mother's day and it was the first time they've seen me since I lost weight! They were shocked! They've seen me down to 165 before but I was still a teen and I've never been in the 150's since childhood! They said they might not even recognize me if they'd just passed me on the street! LOL!

Well, it's bedtime for me! I hope everyone is having a beautiful journey and enjoys their summer (with A/C, of course!!!)

I have had and still have gallbladder problems but it's not to the point of actual gall stones. It's just "thickened walls" so no one will operate. I feel fine now but there were times after I lost weight where I got very sick. I then got cyst problems so doctors are unsure which is the primary cause of my "episodes" The episodes are strange and come out of nowhere. One day I feel great and healthy and then wham!
knife like pain in the right side, nausea, vomiting, sometimes severe headaches, pain etc. Hopefully you can get it checked out soon!
and the itchiness makes a lot of sense! I get really itchy too with rashes. Now I wonder if it's connected?? hmm. It's very weird to see family and friends after losing weight too. They are so shocked :D
Hope your week is going well
