This weekend can suck it

So upset about how this weekend has gone. Dh has a big thing at work so we've barely seen him all week. My 3 yo was awful about listening Friday. She just couldn't get her behavior together. Saturday we went to the park and she had a massive meltdown over something little. She was better after nap, but went all sassy after dh stopped in for 5 minutes before going back to work. Today we went to the zoo. She was just ugly to me. We left when she had another massive meltdown and I ended up screaming at her which I never do. She took a little nap and then laid down with me and fell back to sleep. We decided to go out to dinner but she was so snotty trying to get ready that I lost it and just started crying. She reigned it in but I noticed what was a small bite on her leg yesterday is now a huge red spot. She also got something in her eye at the zoo and it's swollen partially shut. None of the urgent cares are open. I turned my back for a minute to get her shower ready and found her eating a crayon. She wasn't pleasant to get ready for bed and I'm just done. I hate how she acted today and how i responded. Dh says he probably won't be home tonight. I'm exhausted and just want to watch GoT, but we haven't even watched last week's episode.

I can commiserate. My daughter will be three soon and I can't stand it sometimes. She can be out of control. I am hoping it goes away by her third birthday in a month. Haha. Yeah , right! really I hear three is worse than two.

Oh no! I've totally been there. My daughter will be four next month and definitely has her moments. I'm not proud to say I've totally lost my s**t before too. But we're all just human.
I'm home with my daughter by myself four nights a week and on the weekends during the day because my husband is in graduate school. It's so hard when all I want is some alone time and I get none of it. Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Yes that sounds like a rough weekend...hugs to both of you! I love how you let her snuggle down and nap with you to help her feel better! :) I hope that bite looks better this morning. And her eye. emoticon

Hey I totally understand, I have a little girl who is 2 1/2. She is awesome, but toddler happens. I got frustrated with her today at bedtime. But tomorrow will come and we have more opportunities with them. You guys are adorable, lots of love to you!

Also, my husband is going on a week long trip in two weeks and I have no idea how we are going to survive without him! I am sure we will, there just might be some frazzled nerves by the end.

Threenager can be the worst, ugh. I read somewhere that it is good that we aren't perfect with our kids, because they can see how to apologize, etc. Made me feel a little better about my sometimes at the end of my rope moments!

I'm sorry things went the way they did. I don't know how parents do it. But it sounds as if you did the best you could. She is a beautiful little girl.

This is rare. She has a big change at daycare too. I just hate when our time together goes to hell.

Yes, she misses daddy. No, she does not have sensory processing disorder or Autism. I'm a social-emotional consultant. My job is to help parents deal with challenging behaviors in kids 0-5 and I frequently identify both disorders. She's just 3.

Could she be missing daddy? If not, does she do this alot? She may have had those melt downs due to sensory overloads. Have her checked for that and for autism. If that is the case, then it would help to get occupational therapy for you and her and for DH when he is home. I have autism as well. As odd as it sounds have her checked for seizures as well since not all seizures are fall to the floor and shake seizures (I have them). I am not trying to be doom and gloom. I have all that. I was 21 (literally 21st birthday) before all diagnosis started coming in.
