A Good Hostess -- For Me and My Guests

I entertained two friends yesterday from noon to 6 pm at my home. The afternoon included lunch and two snacks. I am more committed to eating healthfully than them, but I managed to keep them satisfied and stick to my eating goals at the same time. I was able to because there is very little in my kitchen that is outside the range of food I need to finish off my last 10 pounds. I couldn't offer much in the way of sugar or refined carbohydrates if I wanted to. I was able to serve them larger quantities of things like nuts and hummus that I would normally consume, along with my usual fruits, vegetables, flavored waters and thin breads. My indulgence was the homemade hot chocolate I served to showcase the 100% cacao I brought back from South America. With that we could all enjoy something sweet -- but since you have to add your own sugar to your cup, I could also keep that, too, within the range of my goals.
