I MUST be more disciplined

Saturday, June 18, 2016

For the first time since I started daily weigh ins I have put on weight three days in a row. The total weight gain over the three days is virtually a kilograms (2.2lb). Why?

Possible causes:-
1). Saturday I Exceeded my calorie allowance by over 100 calories. I MUST be more disciplined.
2) I didn't track Wednesday's food at all, and Friday and Saturday s food logs are not complete. I MUST be more disciplined

Well there's my answer isn't it!

I have an amazing capacity to forget when it comes to food and eating and when I stood on those scales this morning I was genuinely mystified as to why the scales were going the wrong way. I've been exercising after all. Sitting down and writing this blog has made me see the blindingly obvious. I need to complete my food diary every time I eat something.

I MUST be more disciplined.

At the start of the month I blogged that I was going to complete the food diary 100% in June. I haven't and obviously I need to.

Sounds like discipline is due. HOWEVER, 100 calories over allowance, truly isn't the end of the world. That's an Apple and a half! It's probably the track on and off and not to accurately. Could be also that you are retaining water, hormones...

When you are REALLY ready to lose weight, you will be very conscious of what you put in your mouth. I was so ready last year and that kept me disciplined even after 16 months and 50 lbs lost. Best of luck.

    Great observations!
Consistent food tracking helps a lot in seeing clearly, and planning ahead of time takes out the struggle of eating.
I wouldn't worry much about a 2-pound weight fluctuation, though...
If you follow your plan, eat well and stay active, you will inevitably reach your happy weight.

I'm in maintenance, and my weight fluctuates 4-5 pounds every months.
