I was super thrilled with all the positive responses from my last blog. It was a bit harsh, but I didn't receive ANY negative feedback, so I must not have offended anyone, yay!
I'm just checking in here to say hello. I've been super busy, but things are slowing down a bit around here. This past weekend I visited Richmond for my grandma's 80th birthday party. (Her birthday was in May but this was the actual party.) We had a fabulous time! It's so wonderful to be so fully accepted and fit in with your birth family. Here's a pic of me, my Grandma and my cousin Sarah. Seeing this picture gave me a boost of confidence because I used to feel like the "ugly" cousin. Not that I'm ugly, but Sarah is gorgeous. I feel gorgeous, too!
My mom and I got some girl time (she took me for a pedicure) and had lunch together, which was really nice.
Now here's a fun example of how you can eat until you feel ready to burst without screwing up your diet:
Yesterday was pretty busy at work so I didn't get to eat my afternoon snack. I drove home ravenous but didn't stop to buy food. When I got home I spied the watermelon I'd bought on Monday. A large, whole watermelon. I got it into quarters and I ATE A WHOLE QUARTER. I weighed the wedge before I started chowing down and then after. I ate 547 grams of watermelon. People, that is a LOT of watermelon. I felt like I was going to explode! But, do you know how many calories 547 grams of watermelon has? 175 calories. THAT'S IT! It's mostly water. And fiber, so it will... *cough* help clean you out.
Because of all that watermelon, eating my dinner late and being tired, I finished the day at only 1600 calories (my range is 1600-2000) and I had a 1,000 calorie deficit yesterday, haha.
I also ate 12 servings (if not more) of freggies yesterday, because I only ate meat at lunch.
Hope you all had a great weekend and continue to have a great week!
