No Sugar, Sugar

Today is my third day of my seven day personal challenge to not eat refined sugar. And it is HARD. There is sugar in practically EVERYTHING that comes in a box.

I almost cried last night when I realized that there are 0 grams of sugar in Amy's Vegan Mac & Cheese. Score! I ate that with a side of asparagus.

I've been drinking my coffee either black (so not used to that) or with a teaspoon of honey.

A couple benefits I've noticed, though, in such a short time: I feel way lighter, almost like I'm floating, which is such a weird sensation to have. I don't have that puffy feeling throughout my body. In just two short days, my craving for sugar has decreased, which I wasn't sure was possible. Tuesdays are what my friend and I call "hot lunch Tuesdays," when we go out for lunch and then afterward get giant diet sodas and a candy bar. I opted out, and I thought it would be way harder than it actually was.

Perhaps this is just sheer will to avoid sugar or maybe it is my body saying, "Hey, you don't need or want that." I don't know. I don't really care.

What matters is how I feel, and I feel pretty freaking good.
