4 week challenge
Tuesday, June 14, 2016
Yesterday kicked off day 1 of a last minute plan to start a personal 4 week challenge! I have my plan outlined in detail, but here is the general idea:
1. Continue to stick to my eating plan - it works for me, but I need to stick with it and make sure I'm getting enough water.
2. I am long overdue to start adding in some exercise! I am keeping it easy and reasonable to get started, so I don't crash and burn trying to do too much, too fast. I will do a beginner's body weight workout on M, W, F, and will be getting back on my treadmill T & Th to start to build what little endurance I had. For now, just 2 miles of walking and jogging to see where I'm at. Once I get back into it, I will start challenging myself.
3. As an OPTION ONLY (for now), I would like to get up early to do yoga before work a couple times a week. This is mainly for stress relief and flexibility. Although I'm not a morning person, the idea of starting my day with yoga has always appealed to me. It's just so hard to get out of bed!
4. And as a bonus, I'm making it a point to do some stretching / light desk exercises twice a day while at work. Just a little something extra to help move my body and release tension and help reduce stress.
I'm actually pretty pumped about it, and it's my last chance to drop a few more pounds before the awards banquet in July! Realistically I think I should be able to drop at least 1 pound a week, but wouldn't mind seeing 6-8! Guess I'll have to work for it!
