A Life of Convenience
Tuesday, June 14, 2016
At my age, I am finding that life is moving fast. The days start to run together and it feels like there are never enough hours in the day. But, right at our fingertips, the world has made many conveniences to make our lives so much easier to live. Is it easier or is it just convenient?
Look around. You will see blocks filled with drive-thrus and restaurants. Coffee shops, ice cream shops, cupcake bakeries, take and bake pizza. What once was a gas station is now housing a full variety of every evil food item that you could dream of. They try to convince you that they are there to make life more convenient and tasty. Don't fall for their trap! I am finding that there is nothing convenient about any of this other than a quick convenient way to add on to my tummy, thighs and buttocks. The taste last while you are inhaling it and then is gone.
There are so many other ways to make life more convenient. It requires planning ahead. I like to think about what I am going to have for lunches and dinner for the week, go to the store and do food prep for the week. This assures that I always have a plan for my meals and am not easily tempted to stop at the places of convenience for my meals. It has worked out very well for me. I have come to a place where I can pass by one of my favorite eateries, feel slightly tempted to stop and then continue to drive as I remember that they are not my friend they are just a convenience that I can do without. Because I planned ahead, I have a nutritious meal at home that will be quick and easy to fix and good for me.
Are you going to continue living a life of convenience like this....
Or are you going to plan your convenience with this...
