Dog Food

Wednesday, June 08, 2016

I want to thank all my fellow Sparkers for all the helpful suggestions on getting my picky eater to actually eat dogfood. I combined all the advice into some crumbled ground beef fried with bits of raw carrot and added a little leftover mac 'n cheese at the end. I mixed a handful of dry dogfood in this. I hand fed him a sample of the hamburger and the noodle and left the plate near him. A few minutes later I noticed he was eating it. He tried real hard to avoid the dry dog food, but ended up eating more than he left. Dumb dog. He could have had canned food with shredded cheese for the rest of his life, but he had to get greedy and see what else he could get. I got tired of feeding the canned food, plus whatever I had mixed into it, into the garbage disposal. We waste very little food in this household. He was making us look bad.

Anyway, after he had his little dinner, he curled up next to me and fell asleep. Tomorrow I will put some leftover cooked spinach in with the burger. Don't want the spoiled little darling to get bored...

Merricks dog food is wonderful. Tha canned food is amazing.. Please be careful giving your dog human food "Mac and cheese, burger, etc." though they do enjoy it , human food is much more difficult to digest.
