Quick Update...! MOTD? Moi?

Hey everyone, still Sparkin' away as best I can.

Work challenges have cut into my workouts, but after these training webinars (I'd rather go get my teeth drilled...lol!) are over there should be some light at the end of the tunnel!

I've had some weekend rides around 50 miles or so, but THIS weekend I'll be upping my game by heading to the Great Finger Lakes Bike Tour

but instead of driving the 70 miles to Watkins Glen I will be riding my bike semi-loaded on Friday. Then riding another 70 or so miles on Saturday (haven't decided which ride I'll do out of the Hidden Valley Campsite at the state park) and then riding another 70 miles back home on Sunday.

After all, gotta get ready for the big FANY (Five hundred miles Across New York) ride happening the last week of July! :-)

The cool upside to my NOT working out as much has been to find that my healthy food choices which include NO sugar, NO grains, NO eating from bedtime to noontime, but boatloads of veggies, some fruit, legumes, nuts, eggs, yogurt and cheese has been holding the line on the weight so that there won't be any extra "payload" for me to tote up and down all those hills which await! Woo hoo!

Tonight I get to take a breather and head out with my partner and friends to enjoy a concert at Binghamton University with the unique blend of jazz, bluegrass, classical, world and who-knows-what music provided by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones!

update: oh, okay, perhaps "no grains" is too broad: I WILL eat oatmeal before a long ride and I don't have a problem with barley in a soup chocked with veggies or quinoa in some recipe as long as these grains are minor players, not the main attraction.
