June 4, 2016 BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND
Those who reach goals know what they want and are driven to do the work to get it. They have dreams, set goals and work to reach those goals. They have an idea of what they want the end to look like. It may be completing college. It may be taking on a leadership role at work. It may be finishing a project at home. Whatever the goal, they begin with the end in mind. Our end on the earth will one day come. Maybe it's time we look at what we want to look back on before we leave this earth and strive to work toward that goal. Maybe it's time we start to live to make the difference God created us to make.
1 Timothy 6:18b-19 "They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life." (NLT)
Dear Lord, we know You have a future for us that is like no other. Help us to set godly goals in line with Your will. We want to make a difference on this earth that will give You the glory. Help us to keep the end in mind when we are working to do Your will. You tell us to always be ready to share with others, do good works and be generous. Show us how we should work toward obeying You today. In Jesus' name. Amen.
We will either look back on our lives with regret that we didn't do enough or with satisfaction that we did God's will.
God wants us to keep the end in mind when we do His work knowing we are storing our treasures up in Heaven.
We are called to be rich in good works, generous and ready to share with others.
Today is a great time to repent of any wrongdoing in our lives and begin to live for Jesus.
Let's not be one of those people who look back on our lives with regret of never taking up our cross and following Jesus.
Ezekiel 20:43 "You will look back on all the ways you defiled yourselves and will hate yourselves because of the evil you have done." (NLT)
Focus: The things of the world will soon fade away but the riches we store in heaven will last forever.
