Make your happy life

Friday, June 03, 2016

Of this be sure: You do not need find the happy life -- you make it.

There is a new series on Huffington Post called "Talk to Me". It is children asking questions of their parents. I love it, I love the questions, I love the idea.

This got me thinking...if my darling Daughter asked me what I would want for her in her life, I would think of all kinds of things, success, health, love, but most of all, and by a wide margin, I want her to be happy.

Happy is a state of mind. Happy has nothing to do with weight, or success, or wealth. It has everything to do with an inner feeling of contentment with your circumstances. It is a feeling every day, that this will be a good one, and you will make it so.

Are you happy? If not, why not? This is in your power every single minute of every single day to make happen. Nobody can do this for you. People can enhance your happiness, people can make your days worse if you let them, but nobody can make you happy but you.

So, in thinking about life, what I would like for everyone, including my DD, I would always choose happiness. I choose it for you today. Make yourself happy. Smile more. Love more, laugh more. Sing more, dance more. In other words, be happy.

Spark on.

I would also choose happiness first and foremost for my children. Success, wealth and even good health are worth very little without it!

As Sandi said too... happiness is a CHOICE! It's really up to us to embrace it.

I'm with you. As a Mama, above all I want my Kelly to be happy. And I think, that as she ages, what I might want even MORE for her is that she have peace. Peace in where she is in her life, peace about who is IN her life, and peace about who she is, deep down inside.

    Hugs,
    Sue

I too choose happy, depression makes it harder but it can be done. Smile at everyone you meet, it's amazing what it does for your happy and other people too. Met a lady in Walmart today, she has severe arthritis in her neck to the point where she can't turn it much. We had a short but giggly conversation about lima beans . Doesn't take much to find a happy.

GREAT blog!!!!! So wonderful & truly heart felt questions!

emoticon 6-3-16 So my weight is up, again. I have really had to slow down, because of burning my hand & then falling. emoticon It's been a month & the scale is showing it! I KNOW what to do, but can't seem to slow down on eating. I continue like I am burning emoticon the 1200-1400 calories a day emoticon , I usually do. If anything I'm eating more, emoticon what's with that? Today I am getting 'real' with myself & NOT beating myself up. I'm ready for Sheppard Pilates DVD 2 times a week, again. Zumba 3 times a week, walking Lucy, daily & hiking, swimming is starting to happen, too. My hand is finally able to shower again. I am not making excuses. I started the month of May 6# less than I am today. YIKES!!!! I am close, very close to being able to do my 'regular' activities, YEAH! emoticon The support of SP is what is helping me get through this emoticon time.

emoticon That used to be my stock answer as a child, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say "Happy". It was true then. It's true now. Choose happy! emoticon

one morning on the way to work I stopped at the grocery to replenish my frozen veggies at the office. As I was putting the bags in my car, the lady in the next parking space put her window down and said, "you just look so happy...smiling to yourself!"

I told her that I WAS happy. The sky was a beautiful blue, the leaves had just started popping out all bright green, the temperature was mild...life is good!

Permanently unhappy people are so very draining. Physically and mentally. They tend to wear out everyone around them.

I like to be more of a Tigger than an Eeyore!

I have two parents: one is perennially unhappy, the other is permanently happy. I have tendencies of both, but I will always choose happiness when I have a choice. Sometimes it takes a TON of effort, but the effort is always worth it.

I'm so happy to have met you, my dear friend! You bring me happiness every day. And I'm married to a guy who makes me extraordinarily happy. That's a true blessing. My job makes me happy too, even when it's stressful.

    Yes, I choose HAPPY.

Love this! I believe I am happy - at least most days. I choose to be happy. I agree with you, happiness to me is being content with who I am and where I am each and every moment of every day. When I dwell on things I want but don't have it just makes me sad - and what's the point in that. So I relish every good thing and do my best to put the rest aside! Great message!!!

And just an aside - I worked really hard to get everything planted yesterday so it would be ready for the rain today! When I finished up last night I was REALLY happy!
