Hover dam & grand Canyon

Monday, May 30, 2016

What a freaking day! Up at 5 (not because I wanted to be but because my body thought it was time). Listened to the other 3 snore for the next 2 hours until I had had enough and decided to go downstairs & get some hot tea from The Perq. Those pastries looked sooooo goood! But of course I passed them up. Anyway, long story short we finally made our way from the vegas strip to the Hoover Dam (after a very successful breakfast at ihop of egg white omelet & veggies with no cheese). Hover dam never disappoints! Then we found our way to the grand Canyon just in time for sunset after I discovered that although Moo Goo Gai Pan is not near as good without sauce it is a necessary evil of eating to live. Grand Canyon was amazing and never disappoints! My mother-in-law checked off a few of her bucket list items today. Our trip has been Uber successful. It's 1230 am arizona time and I have finally given up driving after driving the last 1200 miles I think I can relax now. Lol! Dinner was awesome and my husband and I have set goals to hit 175 (for me) and the 275 (for him) as quickly and as healthy as possible. We have a wager on it. I'm going to kick his butt! GAME ON SUCKA! He did say something that really surprised me tonight. He said, and I quote, "I'm really glad that I've had this opportunity to try salads. We were always raised that salads were rabbit food according to dad. I think I was just afraid to try something new". MIND BLOWN! I am so darn proud of him. He's is really taken on this lifestyle a lot better than I could have ever imagined.
