Day 10 - Panda trys a diet
Wednesday, May 25, 2016
I for one do not believe in diets. I believe that changing your eating habits can result in a healthy lifestyle and change. But, I am your classic example of why diets don't work. I get bored. That, and I like food...so I must eat a variety. But, I am a great fan of the Kaiser Diet.
Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit, 2 tbs. peanut butter, 1 slice toast
Lunch: 1/2 cup tuna, 1 slice toast, a coffee/tea

Breakfast: 1/2 banana, 1 egg, 1 slice toast

Breakfast: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice of toast
Lunch: 1oz cheddar cheese, 5 saltine crackers, 1 small apple
Dinner: 1 cup tuna, 1 cup beets, 1 cup cauliflower, 1/2 cantaloupe, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
Lately I have found this diet called the Military Diet. But, no matter what you call it. I have had success with it. Now, I am not saying it is a MIRICULE cure to weight issues. But, I am saying that both my husband and I lost weight doing this diet. And as long as I kept eating healthy, and working out I was able to maintain the loss, plus continue to lose.
Like I eluted too... I am not great at eating the same thing day after day. However, that is part of the plan with this diet. You can only do it three days, twice a month, (I recommend only once a month). You have to take a four day break between, (I also recommend that you not eat any of the things on the diet during that four day break).
I find it a great weight loss "jump start" when I do the diet three days, and then eat healthy for the next four days... and beyond. Like I mentioned the diet says that you can do it twice a month. But, I have found that I am more successful if I just do it once a month. I have done it back to back and found that I only lose between four & six pounds the next go around, and less after that. If you do it week after week you do not get the same benefits. Not only do you get bored out of you mind, but the loss of weight slows to a crawl so what is the point.
Now there are some draw backs. You have to eat the food listed...no substitutions. And you have to eat all the foods. Day one I feel like I am starving between lunch and dinner. But trust me... by day three I hate having to eat that 1/2 a cup of ice cream.
And, I know this diet sounds kinda vague. When I do it I eat everything raw. However, when my hubby does it he heats everything. We have done it organic, and we have done it with dollar store produce. My hubby has seasoned his meals, where as I usually abstain from my need to salt everything. And the results were always the same. Three days on, four days off, weighing on the seventh day with a loss of 10 pounds.
I am doing it now because I am obsessed with getting back to were I was before October. If I could just get back to that 165, I could move on from there. LOL
