Normal is time dependent

Scene: Soccer kid, sprawled over sofa, busy chatting with friends on her i-thing. Me, sitting on the other end of the sofa, peering at her over my laptop screen.

Kid: Don't look at me!
Me: Why not?
Kid: Because then I want to kiss you.
Me: That doesn't make any sense.
Kid: Come over here, baby!
Me: Do you want the cream for your knee?
Kid: I don't know where it is.
Me: It's on your bookshelf.
Kid: *You're* a bookshelf.
Me: (tosses her the cream)
Kid: (spreads cream on the scars from her knee surgery)
Kid: Look at my knee.
Me: I see it.
Kid: Look at my knee!
Me: I'm looking at it!
Kid: (starts poking my in the ribs with her foot)
Me: Stop being so weird.
Kid: *You're* weird.

This is what passes for conversation at 1 am in this house. I think it's time for bed.

Best thing in the world is a little "mom" time. You're giving a huge gift to your daughter to have those close times that aren't "logical", but so precious!

Well, I know for a fact that y'all don't drink or take mind-altereing drugs, so I'll just say no harm in a little absurdity before bed! Kinda cute, actually!
