Stamina Surprise

I have been working out hard for over three years and thought I was in pretty good shape and had excellent stamina. BUT.....we just adopted a dog and now walking her a lot during the day and I've gone from around 15,000 steps/day to closer to 20,000 or more and I feel it! I was getting up and walking around the house for 5 mins and now I take her for a 15 - 30 mins walk in the morning. That is great and I really love the time with her (Cora) but it is a shock that this kind of walking tires me out.

Just goes to show that we can always ramp up our workout. What are you doing to change up your routine?

    With obtaining life time In July I no longer pay WW monthly membership fees. So I put that money saved towards an additional Feldenkrais class and added two water aerobics classes a week. So now its Tues yoga, Wednesday water aerobics Thursday Feldenkrais, Friday water aerobics and Saturday Feldenkrais. And yes I notice I am more tired, but figure I will build up my stamina eventually.

    I bet the dog appreciates the walk. I have stepped up my exercise by adding an extra session on Thursday evenings.
