Honor Your Body

A concept that keeps me committed to living a healthy lifestyle and enjoying the process is simply "because I can." I have the privilege to be in control of my health. I have the ability to be physically active, so I am. I am able to chose to eat well and plan for indulging . The day these privileges are taken away from you every excuse you had as to why you can't stay consistent with your workouts or following a nutrition plan is so hard will feel so silly.
I bring this up, because my boyfriend was just diagnosed with hypertension. The cocktail of high blood pressure, inflammation, and stress on the body due to poor diet and lack of exercise has left him feeling discomfort and complications. Literally overnight he has had to change his lifestyle. No salty foods, cheese, sugar, caffeine. All foods that I enjoy in moderation, are completely out of the question for him right now. We have a plan on how to try to get him back on track, but his main concern is if his poor choices have resulted in permanent damage to his body. Will this condition spiral to other health issues? Will he always feel sick?
You only have one body. Honor it by taking care of it. Enjoy living a better quality life.
