A Day Out with Friends
Monday, May 02, 2016
Yesterday I was fortunate to be able to go to a quilt show a couple of hours away from my home. I didn't have to drive which was nice. I did ride up front and visited with my friend Marilyn who drove and also two friends, Linda, and Peg who rode in back. These three women are experienced quilters while I am not exactly a beginner having made 10 quilts of varying degrees of difficulty, however compared to my friends I am nearly a novice. I borrowed a walker with a seat on it so I could walk awhile and then sit to rest my aching feet, knees, and back. It was a big quilt show and I learned so much from Marilyn about quilt construction and embellishment. A pianist played all afternoon which was also delightful. The quilts were a feast for the eyes, the the music was an additional treat. It was so nice to be out with friends for the day. We packed our lunches and then on the way home stopped for dinner. I did well with my food plan for the day, and the trip with friends lifted my spirits.
