Wow! It has been quite some time since I logged onto Spark People. We no longer have internet service where we live, so my access is very limited.
How have things been for me? Well, I have lost a couple of pounds and hopefully, they will stay lost.
I have been training with my 14 year old granddaughter for a 10k race, which is on Saturday. This is her first 10k and I may be more nervous than her. I am so paranoid that she will lose her way and we'll have to skirt the town looking for her. That is my fear, not hers. I know she will do great and the course is well marked. I have ran it for the last 5 years now.
But hey! How many teenagers can say, "I am running a race with my grandma?" I love creating memories with my grandchildren.
I am struggling with being 100% plant-based with my diet, but for the most part, I am eating lots of plants. My sweet tooth is a real bear though, and it is giving me lots of grief. I need to really tame that thing and lock it in its cage and throw away the key.
I managed to do it about 4 years ago and cannot figure out why I am having such a struggle this time around. The only thing I can think of is I am eating more carbs this time around. Unfortunately, a lot of those carbs are in the form of sugar, sugar and more sugar.
Seems like a simple enough solution: STOP EATING ALL THAT SUGAR!
I want to say starting May 1, let's do a no sugar challenge! But I do not know when and if I will be able to log on to SP enough to be effective in a challenge. But it will be good to do on own, perhaps see how long of a streak I can do.
Well, thanks for reading and hopefully, we'll have internet at home sometime this fall. Anyway, that is what we are being told. Keeping my fingers crossed
