might want to check the "Team Keto" and "Keto Clarity" SparkTeams - seems cutting way back on the sugars really helps me and increasing the HEALTHY fats and a moderate amount of protein.. I need to get back on it though. Sunshine6442 mention of her doctor's statement about once insulin resistent, always insulin resistant might be true. I don't know. I've never gone to endocrinologist...

Beef, lamb, pork, fish, turkey, chicken, bison, sardines, Tuna, mussels, crab they have no carbs...so you do not have to eat just veggies and fruit...eat protein... every meal

You can also have scrambled egg whites, omelets, Crustless quiche, egg salad and boiled eggs.If you have a potato...have a red potato as it has less starch. Chose rye bread over any other kind of bread...it has fiber and is better than wheat that can raise blood sugar in some people. Toast the bread as it changes the structure...less carbs!
Read the daily tips on the team wall and the resources column to learn about foods.

You say in your post "I'm still prediabetic"
By the way...I was told by my endocrinolgist that once you are insulin resistant you will always be insulin resistant. You have to stay vigilant the rest of your life....yes you can control your numbers but if you go back to eating the wrong foods you can become a full blown diabetic. You can prevent or slow the progression of prediabetes to type 2 as pre-diabetes and cholesterol can come back very easily. emoticon

Depending on your blood lipids, you may be able to replace some of the carbs you eat with healthy fats like nuts. I regularly go over my fat recommendation, but stay on the lower half of carb values.

Just keep up what you're doing with the fruits and veggies. Maybe easy a few less carbs or if the package has more than 3g sugar per serving don't eat it?
