5 month wellness birthday- Yay!!!

My wellness birthday was Dec 18, 2015. So I reached 5 months this week. I got into a little crazy on my eating this weekend but I logged everything and jumped back on the band wagon Monday. So I'm proud of myself for getting past my first real slump since beginning this new life style. I'll say one thing, being healthy is NOT for lazy people. Two months ago, I began working out in the gym at my work during my lunch break. I figured it was free so why not??? It's been quite a big learning curve. lol. I like my routine now. It's challenging and yet achievable. Last week I moved up to 10 pound weights for my arm exercises but had to drop back to only two sets of 10 exercises. Maybe Friday I will try doing a third set. We'll see. One goal I've set for myself is to do a pull up. So several of the exercises are geared to building my strength in those muscles. I'm doing cheater pull ups where I lays own on the bench and pull my chin up as close as I can to the bar. Even that's a struggle! But today I was able to do that and lift my butt up too. Progress!!! I also do leg exercises. I'm doing the Spartacus routine. Boy is that a doozy. Gah!!! But I can tell it works. Then most every night I do Pilates. Usually the 20 minute video but if I didn't go to the gym at lunch I will do the accelerated video. Some days in very tired and it's hard to be optimistic. I've got such a long way to go and the pounds are stubbornly clinging. I've only lost 37 pounds so far. I've got 108 pounds to go. I'm struggling with eating the right balance of calories for the amount of exercise I'm doing. I'm either starving or earring too much. But most days I am able to encourage myself by noting the small goals I've reached. Like being able to keep up with my son at the LA Zoo last Friday. All the up and down hill over and over and I was good the entire time. 🤗 But I think the most encouraging thing of all is this before and after picture of myself. The picture on the left is from February 10 and the picture on the right is from today, April 20. Yup, definitely see progress. So I'm proud of how far I've come, believe I'm working on a good plan right now and know what I need to do to get to my end goal in 15 months. Onward!!!
