Well, I am 6 weeks post surgery.

Healing: doing well. I can get my arm up to about 165-170 degrees. In 2 more weeks hed like to see me get up to 180 degrees. Doable. I only lasted about 2-2 1/2 weeks in the sling before I had to get rid of it. I'm doing pretty well. Not super sore. When I lift my arm above my head I stop because it feels like it's going to pop, not because it's sore. Which I guess is normal, and will subside over the next 6 weeks or so. When I lift my arm out to the side I am almost perpendicular with my body, which is also good. Its like I don't have the physical strength there, though. Again, not stopping because it hurts. I can sleep on it a bit. I still have to take it easy on certain movements, I won't be healed up enough to go back to lifting for another 6 weeks at least.

Exercise: Ugh. I miss lifting a lot. I could be doing exercises on my own, but aside from lifting and playing with my kids, I am not dedicating any time to it. It's not the same without the camaraderie of my lifting group and trainer. But as much as I miss lifting I miss having full use of my arm more so I just need to be patient. I've been getting my 10k+ steps every day, which is good, but it's just NOT the same. I miss the exertion.

Eating: I've been doing okay. I am probably eating too much for not lifting but I try to listen to my body. Some days I'm down in the 12-1400 calorie range and some days I'm up in the 16-1800 calorie range. I'm doing my best with what I've got.

Weight: holding steady. Not losing, not gaining. At least what I am losing / gaining each week is negligible. Considering all of the above factors that's to be expected and totally understandable.

I will keep moving forward, I am 4 1/2 months in and still going strong. Not giving up!!
