Old friend becomes new friend

Thursday, April 14, 2016

Recently I was contacted by an old friend that I hadn't seen in 30 years. She's a 4x cancer survivor. The cancer treatment brought out her anorexic tendencies. I cried when I hugged her. She's nothing but bones. She came to me begging for help to gain weight. She was always able to eat my cooking. No greasy food. When she moved in, she weighed 95 pounds. She's 5'7". In the week that she has been here, she has gained 7 lbs. I was goaling for .5-1lb/wk. When she gets something that is not working for her, we try to find what she can stomach. I am so proud of her results. I'm also devising a workout routine so that she can build strong muscles while she gains weight. In the meantime, I'm working on my weight loss. We're eating the same foods and we're making sure that it's healthy. I love Sparkrecipes.com.
