Oh, what I would give for the nights when I used to go to bed, fall asleep and not wake up until the alarm went off! emoticon. Not to mention when I would sleep in on Saturday mornings til 10 am or later (I love to sleep!)

Every since I was a caregiver for my aunt and my mom (started this in 2013) before they both went to heaven, my sleep pattern has suffered greatly. I wake up multiple times a night and most nights I can't go back to sleep for quite a good while. I feel so tired in the afternoons at work and just want to take a nap, but by bedtime I'm wide awake! Now with chronic pain in my shoulders due to arthritis it's even worse.

I have been given multiple meds by my dr for insomnia, guess I'm weird because none of it works! When she gave me Ambien she told me to take it right before I laid down and within ten minutes it would be taking effect. I WAS SO EXCITED! I thought, oh boy, I'm gonna finally get a good nights sleep. Ten minutes went by and I felt as awake as ever, so I thought it just needs a litttle more time. 30 min, 60 min and NOTHING and I did this four nights in a row. Sooo back to the dr I go and she gives me Belsomra, same effect nothing happened. I have also tried melatonin with little effect on my sleep or lack thereof.

So if anyone out there has a suggestion that will help me go to sleep and stay that way for at least 6 hours I will be forever grateful! emoticon

When you get ready for bed a nice hot shower and a cup of Chamomile Tea with a touch of honey.. not much and between relaxing shower and the tea plus the sleep aide I take I am out like a light... I know it is hard... I do not watch TV after 8pm cause I go to bed with my hubby... see if that works.. In His Love and Grace Just Me emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Have you ever tried a sleep re-set?

Sadly its easier to do it you have no pressing commitments during the day.

But it really worked for me. I'd happily share full details if you want, if you drop me a PM

Hopefully you have done all the normal things, like reducing caffine, especially 3 to 4 hours before bedtime. I have had sleep issues all my life, but I just go with it. Exercise has helped me a lot, I'm working my body and it is giving up easier. I'm getting about 5 to 6 hours a night now doing the walking videos on this site. I know it's hard while working so I'll say a pray that sleep will come to you soon.

My brother in law has the same problem. He goes for days without a good nights rest. My sleep patterns have suffered a lot over the years, but I don't have insomnia thank God! Hope you can find something that works.
