Easter week results

Last week I wrote about my plans for handling my Polish/Slovak Easter celebration. I must say, I vastly underestimated the difficulty I would have dealing with two days of cooking all of that yummy food. It was almost easier to deal with the actual Easter meal than it was with the preparation time.
For the meal, I did enjoy all of the many dishes we had. I took a very small serving of everything, including the many desserts. I drank only water with fruit in it, avoiding the pop, wine and punch. I tasted, savored and enjoyed. I didn't feel deprived of anything. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I was worried I actually had too much and would gain weight.
Today was my weekly weigh-in. I am shocked to say that I am down 3 pounds. I even weighed myself multiple times because I thought it must be an error.
How did this happen? I was very careful to stay in my calorie range for the rest of the week. For two days of cooking, I was basically on my feet the entire day. I did manage to fit in some workouts even though I was very busy. Maybe there are other factors at play here. Maybe last week's progress didn't fully show on the scale then and showed up this week. I don't know. But I do know that I stayed very mindful of portion size, enjoyed our traditions, and it worked out ok.
