Get up, dress up, show up

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up.

I am pretty lucky, beccause this was my Mom's mantra, pretty much when I was growing up. Don't complain, suck it up, you are fine, get going, get things done.

And for crying out loud, don't give up.

I am taking my car in to have the snow tires swapped out today. Earliest I have EVER done this, since I moved to Minnesota, almost 20 years ago. We have had a nothing winter. It has been great. There will be people here complaining, but I won't. I DID pay the snowplow guy, and he got a great deal this year, but some years, he had to come almost every day and I still paid him the same. They just got more sleep this year!!

Even with my knee, I get up every day, get ready for the day, and aim to get at least something done. I do this every day, because that was the way my Mom raised us. No LOAFING AROUND. She would NEVER have bought video games. As a matter of fact, I never bought video games for my darling Daughter. I thought they were a waste, and I did not like that a kid would sit inside and do nothing productive for hours. My Mom finds them appalling, and I applaud her.

Today, I also go to one of my yoga classes. The first time I went back, it seems like everyone knew I had been gone, and I got applause. You shouldn't get applause for showing up! It was because I had been gone for a couple of months...I'm glad they remembered me.

Today is a beautiful day here. The lawns are actually greening up a bit, and we may get a snowstorm or two, but the snow doesn't last for more than a couple of hours, and it is good for the lawns, so bring it on.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up.

Spark on.
