ALL TIME HIGH

The title of this entry is a bit deceptive. I hit an all time HIGH in my weight in December 2015. :( I hit an all time LOW in my mood and health and I was feeling absolutely miserable. SO, at the beginning of January, my husband and I both went on a mission to get healthy. We cut out junk food, late night snacking and drinking pop/soda. AND THEN, the biggest change ever happened. On January 25, 2016, I started a nutrition class hosted by a friend called RESTART. If you haven't heard of this program, I highly recommend it! www.therestartprogram.co
A friend of our's is a certified NTP and hosts this class in our area. Little did I really know what I was getting us involved in! The course includes a three-week sugar detox, and when I say sugar detox, I don't just mean sugar. It is EVERYTHING sweet, and very limited.
I'm happy to say that it has now been 7 weeks. During the first three weeks of official detox I lost 13 lbs! And since the beginning of the year I have lost 17. It has been slow and steady most of the way, but I am feeling amazing by just making better food choices. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this program as a way to re-train your tastebuds, cut cravings COMPLETELY and start your path to a healthier view of food and nutrition, etc.
I haven't come to SP at all in these past months. I think I have avoided it because it makes me feel as if I'm just not doing enough to see that SO many are working out so much more than me, etc. I have made a huge change and giant strides in my nutrition habits. I may not be running yet (which I do aspire to do someday) but I am already able to do more. It takes time and I know I'm headed in the right direction.
Just wanted to check in. While this post started talking about my all-time HIGH in December, I am telling you that I am FEELING well and energy is at an all-time HIGH (at least for all of my SP years). Here's to many more positive changes to come.
