BECK Weight Loss Workbook

GABY1948, Gaye, recently pointed out to me that there is a workbook that goes with the Beck Diet Solution. So I ordered one and it just came today.
I'm doing well with CBT ala Beck. Just the other day I stopped eating my sandwich half way through and put it in a zip lock bag and sent it to the fridge! I just realized half way through that I wasn't hungry anymore. That's a first for me.
I'm going to work my way through this workbook from the beginning. I enjoy "learning" Beck so much I want to review already.
The very beginning of the workbook tells you that CBT helps people change their thinking so they can change their actions. That's why I think of this as the Thinking Man's Diet.
It also points out that your THOUGHTS determine if you eat or not. Even though we often think we eat automatically, without thinking, YOU always make the decision to eat or not and when to stop or not.
So you are reminded to ask yourself, each time you have the desire to eat, What am I thinking? Literally, what are the thoughts in your head.
If you capture them on paper, you begin to develop a new skill. Being mindful. Thinking before you eat. You might be surprised what you learn about YOU.
