Why I Love the 5% Challenge

I have been participating in the 5% Challenge since 2010. I lost 30 pounds while I was doing the challenge and I have kept it off for 5 years. I credit the challenge and my teammates as a big part of that accomplishment.
Here are some of the reasons why I love the 5% Challenge and why you should consider joining:
1. Keeps me accountable - Weighing in every week and knowing my teammates are counting on me for exercise points, etc. is one of the things that helps me to stay accountable for my actions and food choices.
2. Support - My teammates and other Sparkfriends are some of the most supportive people I know!! Not just for weight or health related issues, but for my emotional well being as well. This is a safe place. Don't we all need that?
3. Learning - Besides the exercise and weigh-ins there are other challenges, called "Living the Good Life". These challenges help us to learn more about how to get and stay healthy.
