Henry Ford is famous for this quote. It is not some new way of thinking so why is it so difficult to get and keep our thinking healthy to match our goals? My metabolism isn't what it used to be that is true but my mind's impact on my mouth and feelings of self-worth can be so defeating. At times my mind and accompanying inner voice try to sabotage my efforts before I even get started.
Being aware of this, I am including in my goals work to improve my positive self-talk and adopt the progress not perfection philosophy. Striving for perfection is setting myself up,for failure. I acknowledge this and rather than set myself up to feel like a failure for not achieving it I will strive to make realistic efforts and treat those efforts as successes.
I think I can, therefore I will. Progress not perfection.
