Grocery Shopping: What was I thinking?
Friday, March 18, 2016
On yesterday I went to the big Wal Mart store for some things I needed. While there, I grocery shopped. Some of the non grocery items I wanted, they were out of. But I promise you I did get a lot of grocery items.
My list of good for me things included: Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Pineapple, Mandarin Oranges, Apple, Peanuts and Bananas.
At least I had a very good start on some healthy foods.
My problem was that I started to get very hungry while I was shopping. I was almost ready to check out when I spotted the counter where they serve fresh cooked food. So I decided to get me some potato logs. A few of those won't be so bad. Whoops..... to late, I spotted the fried popcorn shrimp. A paper cup (about 10oz.) full of the shrimp is $2.50 and the potato logs were $1.01. The price was right and I WAS hungry.
I ate a little bit on the way home (when I was at the red lights). I ate more when I got home. I only ate about 1/3 of the shrimp and part of the logs. It tasted O.K., but was not worth the suffering later.
I do not eat greasy food for a reason. GREASE DOES NOT like me. I was eating tums most of the night.
EVERY TIME I do something stupid like this, I promise myself that I won't do it again. Well, that promise never works out. What is that old saying? "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Today, I do have some good plans for some of the food I purchased yesterday. Broccoli, Cauliflower and Carrots are at the top of my list for lunch plans.
I think I will just have to stick with going to the Wal Mart Neighborhood Market. They do not have all of the tempting fried foods that draw me into their snare.
Blessings to all of my Spark Family.
