Clean Monday and Running
Monday, March 14, 2016
Today is the start of (eastern) Lent, Clean Monday. (Eastern and Western Easters are five weeks apart this year!). Anyways, it's a time for renewal, for growing closer to God, for repenting. And for, I decided, starting new things.
One of my goals has been to be able to run. I bought a new and better sports bra, but I had been putting it off. I've been walking for an hour and a half four days per week for the past six months of so, so I thought I really should step it up and start running. So what better day to start running than Clean Monday?
It's sprinkling out today, so I decided to drive down to the park that I usually walk around rather than walking there. I started out with the goal of either walking or jogging around the park six times. I started off good, but then it got so hard! I walked/jogged around the park twice before I had to stop. I made it 15 minutes at 3.68 mph for just under a mile.
My goal for tomorrow is to get around the park three times.
Here's to fresh starts!
