2016 Spring 5% Challenge starts March 26

I can't wait for the 2016 Spring 5% Challenge to start. The Winter Challenge was just what I needed to lose 10#. My goal was to lose 14#, but I'm excited to have lost the 10# that I did. It was more than I would have done on my own.
It was fun "traveling" to spots around the world through fitness minutes. The minutes spent working out are credited to helping the team with air miles to get to the next destination. Starting out, I felt like I was doing great getting in 10 minutes of walking. I had injured my knee and was in the process of healing. I knew I needed to walk to help with the healing process. I wanted to help the team get to their destinations and decided I was going to do the best that I could. By the time the 8 weeks was completed, I was walking at least 30 minutes a day and some days would actually get in 45 minutes of walking done. It feels good to see the improvement in how long I can now walk without pain.
I owe my success to the Living The Good Life challenges (LTGL). They were a real eye opener for me. Every week we have a new challenge for LTGLs. One challenge was for planning meals a day in advance and checking that I was getting the nutrition I needed was more in the way of tracking my food than anything I had done before. And then to stick to that meal plan was a real exercise in self control. But I knew that what I had planned was what was healthy for me and what I needed to eat and that helped me to stick to my meal plan.
