A Post that turned into a Blog! LOL

Saturday morning was my church's Spring Social... consisting of breakfast served by the high priest's quorum, followed by an Easter Egg hunt for the little ones. Fun, but I couldn't eat the sausage because I didn't know if it was pork, and there were a whole lot of carbs! AND, it was later than I usually eat so every thing was off.

Add today; being Sunday, my whole schedule has to change to accommodate Sacrament meeting, Sunday School classes, etc but today was even worse: not only because it's time to set our clocks forward for Daylight Savings Time, but it's Noah's Pet Project Sunday, so I couldn't even go to church.

Noah's Pet Project is a free veterinary clinic for low income and the homeless. (Been both) It's only open one day a month, and I stand in line from 6:00 am to about 7:30 am to get my animals on the list. Then I go home, eat my 2nd breakfast and feed the cats half of theirs before bundling them into a carrier and heading back to the clinic. Free basic vet care, food, clothes, blankets, beds and toys when they have them... all donated, some used, some new. Today the wait was long and COLD. It was raining, and there's no awning... blood sugar usually drops under those circumstances, but not today, hitting 300 again. Waiting on lab test results... possible infection, who knows?

And this afternoon the entire "tarp roof", bricks and all, came down onto my neighbor's car. When my van was hit last week, there was only one piece of concrete, and it only scratched the windows, just a glancing blow deflected by the door frame. HIS rear window was totally smashed, and the rear hood was badly dented. The manager took the tarp from the roof and covered up his car so the interior wouldn't get soaked by the rain... I heard a lot of swearing... can't blame him for being upset, but we all know how little it helps to yell...don't know what they're going to do about the roof, but we're all of the opinion that it was fixed when the original roof damage occurred, there would be two cars with no window or body damage.

Wonder how long it will take them to fix our stuff...

They've stayed on top of the little things. Interesting...

Praying for my neighbor, AND especially for the manager. Her boss is going to have to stop putting things off now...

Crazy thing, after all this ruckus, I am still cold, and it's almost 10:00 pm! But I've been through worse, and this is fixable!...LOL

Besides, tomorrow is a brand new day! emoticon
Have a good one, everybody!

Noah's Pet Project sounds wonderful. I love things like this. So needed.

I hope you feel better soon. I'm sure having your meal times being off plus DST doesn't help. Hubby and I are messed up from DST.

I agree about being quick about home maintenance. Ignoring it makes it worse. I would be sure that you and the neighbor make it known that you expect your vehicles to be fixed or they may try to ignore this and want your insurance to pay for it.

Hope you are feeling more warm by now. You sure go though a lot of effort to care for your animals.

Wow! Where is the pet clinic? I would love to pass the word. My daughter works at Petsmart (she was in the grooming salon for a year) she wants to work with animals as a career. She also knows how to provide services like clipping nails, etc. I bet she would love to volunteer! Send me a message and let me know! Thanks!

I find it weird our Ward doesn't to anything for Easter except the special sacrament meeting. I guess that is the most important thing anyway, eh? Sorry things have been so hard. Keep Sparking!
