Water heater broken No water!

Sunday, March 13, 2016

Last night I went to take a shower and the water was cold! My husband thought the pilot light was out on the water heater but it was worse then that. All the water had to be turned off because otherwise the broken water heater will leak all over the basement. My husband is going to buy another water heater from Menards. My girls went to a friends house to shower. I recently had surgery so I am home alone with no water. I know I'm spoiled because I feel very sorry for myself with no running water. Its one of the many things you take for granted until its gone.

Yes, the things we take for granted. Here in our community lately we have had our water system break and have been on a boil water order. A couple of times the water got shut off completely. We have learned to keep drinking water on hand since our water is so gross we don't drink it anyway. The last day the water decided to go off I was taking a shower and had soaped up my hair! Lucky for me it lasted long enough to get it rinsed out ; )

I know what that is like and you do really miss water when you can't access it. glad you are able to get a new one and it will be back on again soon.

We have learned to take so many things for granted. Things that in other places are looked at as a miracle, things running hot and cold water.

I am so glad that you discovered that the water heater was broken before you had any water damage. I am also happy that you were in a position for your husband to go out and buy a new one. And that your were able to shower at a friend's house.

Try to see the positives in a negative situation. It will help with the stress you are feeling. I wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery.

Oh Karen, I am so sorry to read this! Really not something you want to happen in your home so close after surgery... I hope your DH can solve this quickly and you get water again today!

:( hope you get your water back soon. We do take the littlest things for granted I was that way when my washer and dryer broke and I had to lug the laundry plus two kids to the laudromat
