It's AHA Heart Mini Time Again

Saturday, March 12, 2016

And I'm not going.

Seriously (SERIOUSLY!) considered heading down to the expo today and registering for the Heart Walk tomorrow, but then I remembered I have to work at 11pm tomorrow night, and I have to make smarter choices than that with my physical challenges these days. Sleep has become one of those things I have to pay attention to, since I'm working nights (and flipping the schedule around isn't as easy as it used to be). ESPECIALLY with Monday morning dates with the grandbaby being such an important part of my week.

Next year? It's ON! In fact, I think I'm going to make it a goal. I've always loved attending the events for the AHA Heart Mini here in town, and with my family background of stroke and heart disease (my sister was just recently diagnosed with high blood pressure too), it's personal.

SO, instead I'm going to head to the gym in a few minutes sporting the sexiest race t-shirt ever in honor of the event (no really, remember this?
) while planning a healthy grocery list and having a productive Saturday.

And hopefully remembering to turn the clocks ahead tonight (I honest-to-gods forgot, the first year since leaving the Evil Empire THAT has ever happened - I think that's healthy).

You sound so much happier now that you are gone from your previous job. Even if you are working nights, and I agree that it's harder than it used to be to switch up my sleep schedule as well!

Go for it, sister! I am so glad to see some blogs from you, so I know you're alive and doing well. So proud of you for making it to the official title of RN! You are a huge inspiration to me, making the decision to go after your dream after working jobs that just didn't fulfill you the way they needed to. Reading stories like yours give me hope that we are never just stuck where we are, but we always have choices and can choose to go a different direction. And hearing about your dad, how he followed so many dreams at many different stages of his life, so inspires me.
